Community-Campus Partnerships for Health (CCPH) facilitated an interactive session for the UNC CHER Health Equity Research Institute (HERI) on Equitable Partnerships on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. The purpose was to contribute to the comprehensive resources for scholars enrolled in the HERI program, and lead discussion on community-engaged research (CEnR).
Attendees gained the confidence to identify strategies to build equitable power and resource structures. They also gained the knowledge of how to create a mutually beneficial relationship. Lastly, attendees were able to explore methods to increase cross-sector collaborations.
We shared with attendees the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) The Principles of Trustworthiness, University of Minnesota Research Partnership Checklist, Hmong Community Planted Spiritual Roots in Merced Hospital, and Participatory Asset Mapping: A Community Research Lab Toolkit.
We’ve been partnering with HERI for many years, and hope to continue our partnership collaborating with community-based practitioners and researchers to build equitable partnerships.
